Our Farms
The name “Five Volcanoes Coffee Farms” was chosen for our farms due to our love of the Big Island of Hawaii, which was formed from the eruption and lava flow of five distinct volcanoes (Kohala, Haulalai, Kilauea, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa).
Five Volcanoes Coffee Farms are located on the slopes of Mauna Loa, in the Cloud Rest region of Moaula Farms. This area was originally covered with sugar cane fields for decades and was replanted in the mid-1990s with arabica coffee trees. This area has been flourishing ever since. We are situated between 1,300-1,400 feet elevation. We are fortunate to experience some of the best climatic conditions for growing coffee: warm, sunny mornings; cloudy, rainy afternoons; and cool, breezy evenings. This microclimate, combined with our nutrient rich volcanic soil, produces some of the finest tasting coffee in the world.

Our ancestors were crop farmers on the mainland, so farming is in our DNA. Our coffee farms are veteran owned and operated. We served over 30+ years on active duty in the US Marine Corps deploying all over the world to places such as Somalia, Peru, Okinawa (Japan), Thailand, the Philippines, Bahrain, Iraq, Afghanistan and Mexico. We enjoyed serving our country and look forward to being able to serve you.
The Ka’u Coffee District is a close knit community of coffee farmers, managers and workers who all like to roll up their sleeves, get their hands dirty, and work hard to serve you the best cup of Hawaiian specialty coffee.
